About the Author: Road, Cristy C Cristy C. Road is a Cuban-American artist, writer, and musician based in Brooklyn, and born and raised in Miami. She began her career publishing 'Green'Zine' in 1997, and playing punk music. Road went on to release 3 graphic novels, tackling the themes of queer Cuban identity, punk rock, sexual violence, and survival. C.Road's most recent project is The Next World Tarot, a 78-card tarot deck detailing themes of justice, resilience, accountability, and reclaimed magic-- illustrated, and written, by C.Road. Aside from her autobiographical works, she has since been illustrating for social justice initiatives and countless publications from music to literature. Road still writes music on love and survival, and performs them as Choked Up, a melodic punk rock group. Road maintains her punk trajectory in her rent control home studio in Brooklyn NY, and sometimes Miami; and is currently working on a semi autobiographical sci fi dystopian romance.
