His tumultuous, post-war childhood introduced him to devastated, apocalyptic Japan-a vision of horror that would inspire his life's work. Hideshi began contributing to Tezuka Osamu's COM in the late 60s, and GARO in the early 70s. Upon publishing his first standalone work in 1978, Hideshi's popularity kicked off a total horror revival.
